High Performance Malibu for Liam

Hi there guys and girls, I just have to show you this variation of a HPmalibu that I made for Liam. He was looking for a mal that would be a good nose rider, have plenty of glide and paddle but still be able to flick it around a bit. Sounds fair enough to me....A few nice features in this board made it a joy to make. Triple hand cut cedar veneer stingers, timber tail blocks, blue faded spray and to top it off, a custom made decal of his Maton guitar.

Rocker wise, there is a moderate overall curve in the board with bottom features sitting inside this basic design. Concave in the nose feeding a double concave in the tail, progressive short board rails that spiral from upturned in the nose to down-turned low and boxy in the tail, allow you to perch for ten over or step back for a modern approach to the wave.  The Phantom Driver fin was the obvious choice for this board. A drill through box for the leash attachment...(this is where I drill a hole through the back of the fin box through to the deck and you attach the leggy string through it)... as I couldn't bring myself to putting a plug in such a nice board.

Board and rider were last seen heading to Straddie for week or two of relaxation and aquatic activities.

....dimensions...9'6'' x 223/4'' x 3''....handshaped for Liam who is 6'2'' tall and weighs 87 kgs...
