Harmony Hull for Kevola

Hi there surf junkies,  just a quick look at a Harmony Hull that I did for my mate Kevola. Loving the concept but liking a bit more length we stretched out this popular design to 8 feet. This board was hand painted by me and Kevola added the OM and mantra across the bow. A one off custom skull logo on the bottom to finish her up. Yuki and I glassed her before choosing my own designed  Harmony fin for the centre fin and the side bites were the rear quads out of the CGQB's.

She's was out the door before Longo got a chance to video her but I'm sure a picture's word a thousand word and here they are...

      ....the dimensions are 8' x 221/2'' x 3''....Kevloa is about 6' and weighs 95 kgs.....

...I think he is happy with it !! .....Cheerios amigos!

Harmony Hull for Ryan

Hi there surfboard lovers!....just another tweak to my popular micro mal called the Harmony Hull. Basically it's the same concept however Ryan wanted a mid length feel to this board.....some thing to cruise on but still have a bit of performance in it despite it's length and nest between his short boards and his logs. Relaxed flatter rocker with a triplane hull in the nose allowing for cheater nose rides. A bit of tail lift providing release in the tail and with the down foiled rails keeping you alive and sensitive on edge, puts you in tight in the pocket when you need it. All this coupled with my own uniquely designed harmony fin templates for maximum performance. Yummo

As always, Yuki and I did the glassing, so we were able to thoughtfully use cut fibreglass patches for an aesthetic and functional appeal. I feel privileged to create surfboards for individuals and I really like the boards I make. To be honest, I'm pretty sorry to see this one leave the factory but I guess, it's on to the next one !!

      .... the dimensions...7'2'' x 213/4'' x 23/4'' .... Ryan is 5' 8'' and weighs 70 kgs ....

A tale of two beauties....

After a fantastic weekends event at Saltfest, I unloaded a few new stock boards into the racks at the Sunhouse, my new shaping digs.  Two boards that stood out in particular as really nice ones ...An XU-1 and the other, a Flow.

The XU-1 is the high performance keel fin that I have been frothing on the last few months or so ....it was hand-painted and then resin tinted,  then a one off custom  set of my keels were glassed on....set and forget....I really liked this board.

The other was a Flow...a 6'5'' that I kinda made for myself...hand painted and put a single fin box in it so I can play around with the many fins that I have.....She looked  pretty sweet and I was looking forward to having some fun with it.

I don't usually  make many stock boards as I really like to make customs for individuals....so any stock boards tend to be super tuned, and mindfully shaped custom boards...but on the rack.....They didn't last long, a total of 4 days, before these boards were in the ocean!!...sad to say ..I didn't really get the chance to photograph them, let alone ride one of them!! but I did manage to get a few dodgy pics on the I-phone before they walked out the door.....Two beautiful boards and two very stoked girls in the line up.

A new Slipper for Brad

Hi out there in Cyberland, been a while but coming up to Chrissy ...what would you expect!...A few weeks ago Brad swung on by to collect an early Chrissy present to himself, a sweet little ride called the slipper.

Brad weighs in at 70kgs and is about 5'8'' and the board dimensions on this beauty are 5'8'' x 193/4'' x 21/2'' and is 31.3 litres. This board features a cut lap custom resin tint and deliberate fibreglass patterning in the deck layers for an added effect. Of course she's a super shiny polish as well to make her look for delicious and durable. Brad rang me after a few surfs on her and was pretty bloody stoked!  Sad to let a nice board like this out the door but stoked to see her go to a well loved home.

FUN 'O' MATIC for automatic fun

Just thought I'd blog this nice resin tinted Fun'O'matic that I made for general good guy, Zac. This one has the nice things that I like to put into my boards and as always, it's the small personal details that make the difference, timber fins, triple resin laminate and glass resin loop.

SIX FOOT AND SINGLE

I started shaping my HARMONY HULL months ago and had it kicking about the bay threatening to glass it but I always got a bit sidetracked. Finally I bit the bullet and had Dan and Marty glass it. ...and what a slick machine it turned out to be.
