Pobblebonk for Heath

Hi there surfboard lovers!  just finished a pretty sweet ride for Heath who was wanting something for those crappy small days. You know... when you want to surf but are uninspired because the boards you have just won't do the job. This is how I felt back in the late 90's when I made my first Pobblebonk after seeing lots of crap waves go unridden at Snapper. I thought, mmmm, I can fix that and get a bunch of hassle free waves as well. The Pobblebonk was, for no particular reason, named after a rain forest frog (because I liked the name) and inspired from hanging out with my knee board riding mate Rosco (not her real name). It's basically a mal with about 4 foot of the useless walking bit removed. Upturned rails in the nose.... super low flat nose entry and hulled with a vee double concave through out the bottom. A moderate accelerating tail rocker with a nice bit of rocker in the rail (as compared to the stringer rocker) and with the low foiled rails, allows you to turn tightly with out effort. Usually I do these as a quad however Heath wanted some keels and why not....they look beautiful and well as functional.

   ..... Heath's Pobblebonk is 5'5'' x 211/4" x 21/2" ...Heath is 5'10'' and weighs 75 kgs....

GO GO fish for Evan

Hi there, this is a little video of a GoGo fish I made for Evan in W.A.  It's pretty well a standard GoGo-fish but with a little more volume in the nose as requested by Evan. The deck is quite flat which helps distribute the volume evenly. With the rails low and foiled and a generous curve in the plan shape, the board will feel fresh and sparky throughout the turns and will perform well in a variety of wave conditions. The tape up, cut lap and custom tinted glass job was done by Yuki and I, and the sweet timber fins made by me. The bespoke leggy loop in the tail is a lovely addition to free the deck space of a leg rope plug so you can get your foot right back if you need to. This forward feeling volume board will paddle in early, catch the waves easily and with the lower rails, surf well off the nose.

....the dims on the board are 5'7'' x 201/2'' x 25/8'' and about 35 litres....

Harmony Hull for Ryan

Hi there surfboard lovers!....just another tweak to my popular micro mal called the Harmony Hull. Basically it's the same concept however Ryan wanted a mid length feel to this board.....some thing to cruise on but still have a bit of performance in it despite it's length and nest between his short boards and his logs. Relaxed flatter rocker with a triplane hull in the nose allowing for cheater nose rides. A bit of tail lift providing release in the tail and with the down foiled rails keeping you alive and sensitive on edge, puts you in tight in the pocket when you need it. All this coupled with my own uniquely designed harmony fin templates for maximum performance. Yummo

As always, Yuki and I did the glassing, so we were able to thoughtfully use cut fibreglass patches for an aesthetic and functional appeal. I feel privileged to create surfboards for individuals and I really like the boards I make. To be honest, I'm pretty sorry to see this one leave the factory but I guess, it's on to the next one !!

      .... the dimensions...7'2'' x 213/4'' x 23/4'' .... Ryan is 5' 8'' and weighs 70 kgs ....
